A little bit of history…

Nestling snugly in the fertile plains that lie above the river valley of the Liffey, the area of Carpenterstown has long been celebrated as an idyllic location, both for residential living & vibrant topography. In Celtic Ireland this area was prime, rich hunting ground, and home to Ireland’s finest herds of deer. In later centuries along with conquest and colonisation, Carpenterstown became much sought after agricultural terrain. Later still with the growth of the Phoenix Park-Europe’s largest urban park-the hinterland of Carpenterstown became the most cherished residential location for those in society who could afford large demesnes.

With the advent of contemporary Ireland the green fields around Carpenterstown made way for living, vibrant communities. But what is a community without a social, recreational watering hole that caters for the needs of the inhabitants? With those thoughts in mind , Con & Norma Treacy established The Carpenter Pub.
